This is 2 year old Raiyan scrubbing the carpet voluntarily after having spilt his juice (that's just his Auntie Wen Wen being cheeky in the background! Ha ha!) . As soon as he spilt a bit, he quickly ran to the kitchen to get a napkin and started scrubbing the stain off on his own.. Kesian ah! Padahal we never taught him to do this!
This goes to show how anal he is about cleanliness from such a young age already!

Hi Pweshes Mama
When my first born was growing up i could never figure out his insistence on having everything "in order" or "organized".
Then, my second born came along and lo & behold he had the same "highly organized" behaviour. Before standing on a rug he would painstakingly arrange and smooth out the rug before standing or sitting on the rug. His puzzles (at age 3 he played with 100pcs jigsaw puzzles!) must be arranged in its proper place before placing the next piece.
Now i understand that these behaviours in autistic children is their way on having some form of control in our chaotic world.
I myself am a bit anal when it comes to organizing things. Anything out of place would really irritate me!
Imagine what it must be like to a child especially an autistic child who is already confused with his/her surroundings.
Now that my 2nd boy is fully home-schooled, his ex-teachers miss him coz he is the only boy in his age group who tidies up after every activity.
But hey the bonus is we mums know that at the end of the day we don't have much to clean up! Syukur!
Hi autismx2
True true, aku pun once I knew of Raiyan's condition, I began to understand why he needs things to be in its place all the time cos it must be so chaotic in his head atu kan (cam ketani jua bah on our pms days)!its just that Jeff and me pun are kinda like that too (more Jeff than me though..) so we always just thought that it's ikut bapanya.. tapi with Raiyan it did become too extreme lah. there were times before when we would blame ourselves as to why he is like that even though we never taught him to be like that.. bcos of that both of us pun have started to mellow down with the whole perfectionists thing. kalau we want Raiyan to start not caring, we have to start somewhere too! Sadang2 jua eh, kalau baju Addin basah sikit now inda kami tukar (WOW!), karing jua krg tu!
Again, we just have to find the balance in trying to maintain their attention to detail but at the same time not let them get obsessive about it. Cos at the end of the day, I really do appreciate the fact that ia ingau about his cleanliness and being organsied kan! No need for clean up your room lectures nanti!! syukur!:D
